We are now accepting pitches and ask for all projects to pitch by 22nd April 2024.

150 Anniversary of Walsall Arboretum
150 Anniversary of Walsall Arboretum joined Crowdfund Walsall1 day ago

Walsall is proud of the Arboretum, and Lord Hatherton would be impressed at how it has grown into the heart of Walsall over 150 years, having originally donated the land. But not everyone knows about the Anniversary, and the history of this wonderful green space. It officially opened on 4th May 1874, and 150 years later it is still seen as one of Walsalls pride and joys. Whilst a formal event is planned for the 4th May, WAUG would like to continue to promote this landmark through the rest of the year, by branding the car park and main entrances, as well as adding to a couple of events with an anniversary twist. We are especially keen that young people (16 - 24) have more opportunity to engage with Arboretum, and learn about and enjoy the facilities. Signage , branding , Victorian actors at events, a special display at the annual bonfire, a mass community bulb planting in the Gallery Garden will help all of Walsall to know about the last, (and maybe the next ) 150 years.

Handlebars & Saddles

Based upon observations where bicycle tuition disregards awareness to the environment upon which we ride our bicycles & also simple bicycle maintenance workshops to help the cyclist keep mobile & safe on todays infrastructure. Observations made were then used to design & then deliver an improved schedule of workshops. The design then led to the 'Link Um Park' project to deliver the workshop program into other community parks. The overall idea is to bring an enjoyable learning experience to new & experienced cyclists to improve our cycling techniques. With the addition of the simple maintenance workshops (delivered whilst conducting led rides) the participants absorb the knowledge on a more natural learning strategy. Although, additional bicycle maintenance workshops are offered alongside the 'learn to ride' & the 'guided led ride' sessions. The project is of a progressive nature, none pressurised, with simple techniques, based in local community spaces for a more enjoyable experience.

Community Hobby & Gaming Spaces Walsall
Community Hobby & Gaming Spaces Walsall joined Crowdfund Walsall1 month ago

CHAGS is looking to lease a Walsall Town Centre building that will be fitted with tables and chairs where people can enjoy hobbies and games together. Unfortunately, the store already doing this in the town has closed due to financial difficulties, so I would like to raise funds to open a new space for the people of Walsall. Asgard Games was a credit to Walsall, but unfortunately, it was a private company. Therefore, it has been struggling to pay its bills, both current and historical, leading back to COVID-19. The new property will have a cafe and shop to raise money for the CIC to pay essential bills. Building on the existing relationship between themselves and Asgard, The MindKind Projects has agreed to utilise our new space to support the Mental Health of our participants through peer support groups. We will be a space open to all to move people away from isolation and create a community and essential support network for the people of Walsall.

Expand our Performing Arts provision!
Expand our Performing Arts provision! joined Crowdfund Walsall1 month ago

Discover the arts with our diverse classes in Dance, Singing, Drama, Musical Theatre, Drums, Guitar, Piano, and British Sign Language across 4 locations. Annually, we showcase 8 community productions. With public support, we aim to elevate our productions by introducing Head Mics for performers, enhancing the overall experience for our members. Making our performances more accessible, we will be offering BSL interpreted performances of our productions. Expanding our reach, we plan to offer classes in Willenhall and Streetly, extending the benefits of our projects to more young individuals. This should increase our beneficiaries from 260 young people to 300+ per week. Additionally, we aspire to create an online platform, enabling primary schools to access resources for quality music and performing arts education, thereby amplifying our community impact. Join us in fostering artistic growth and community engagement.
