A study shows that over half of all parents in the UK believe that families today are not as close as they used to be, reflecting how the pressures of modern life are preventing them from enjoying important quality time with their children. Mhôme Family Member’s club will be THE place in East London to eat, play and learn! We want it to be a home from home for families; a place that is an extension of your own family that is beautifully designed yet unpretentious. Where you could put your feet up, chill and hang out with your children in comfort. A place that would work around families’ schedule, somewhere that would be safe, engaging, nurturing and social. At Mhôme you will find an indoor playground, café area, childre-led classes, party hires, workshops for the whole family. All will work around your schedule and your family.

What we'll deliver:

• Create a mezzanine for 2 classroms
• Make custom built furniture for the classroom
• Buy material (art, yoga mats...)

Why it's a great idea:

Becoming a parent living in a big city and away from the family can feel lonely and overwhelmed at the same time. Add this to the 2020 Pandemic and you will find entire families feeling extremely disoriented. A survey directed by the ONS found in August 2020 that the pandemic continued to affect 40% of respondents’ well-being. Some left feeling extremely anxious and depressed. The social aspect of our family club was already needed for parents and children mental well-being. It became essential this year to bring together a community of like-minded families. Children learn through play. Our playground is designed to enhance their fine & gross motor skill along with helping with literacy and maths.

The start up costs of Mhôme family club are particularly high. Your pledges will help us fund one part of our project: our multi-functional class rooms with custom built to suit children needs and size. This will put us in a position to offer more affordable prices to cater for a wider number of families.
