A Men’s Shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden – a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A Men’s Shed offers this to a group of such men where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work. Mens Sheds provides a safe place for older gentleman to build relationships and build the confidence to talk about any health related problems they may have. I want to volunteer my time to collect unwanted materials for the Mens Sheds in my community to support and grow this great charity, I need assistance to finance a vehicle suitable for collections & delivery of materials to the various Mens Sheds.

Why it's a great idea:

This is a great idea because not only will it support a great cause but it has a positive impact on the environment along the way by avoiding as much wood ending up in landfill as possible. I need financial assistance to run a Suitable Vehicle for collections and deliveries for the Mens Sheds and idea is to have the vehicle available to the members when it is not being used for the collections. To be sustainable after the crowdfunding has run out we would look to sell the furniture made from the Mens Sheds to fund further collections and for purchases of tools if needed. The real beneficiary of this project will be the guys who get together in their shed and have fun. I want this to continue for as long as possible.
