To revive past memories and encourage People to come together and socialise rather than just sit at home with their own memories and share some
Photographing current locations of Pubs and clubs and what was once the local night club, Using images from Lancashire county council and as I write this any images that come to me. Clayton Is not a big town but apart from the pubs we had cafes one was in the Park, the other was at the bottom of Barnes street. even the three launderettes were places people would socialise. all gone in the name of modernisation. The Pubs and clubs if you had a problem someone could have a resolution. People would socialise with each other, you could talk to someone, a lot of happy memories were shared. To show people that the past maybe gone you can socialise, I want to encourage people to meet and share memories. while taking pictures of the watering holes some people still have memories of the buildings and what they held for them.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It will bring people out of their homes for a brief time so they realise there is a life more than just the television or any media source. Some of the people just do not want to go out as a trip to Accrington can be a long walk to the bus stop, or Limited to a local service. Clayton lost the Library, this will be bring past and present to them in a format they find easy, Pictures, The old saying a picture can paint a thousand words, but each person has their own words for the pictures that they can share with other freinds.
Steps to get it done:
Some of the local people who will be visiting have lived in Clayton Le Moors all their lives, whole families, people knew each other. so Far I have been given use of a room at the Park View working mans club, Lancashire Archives will pay for the Prints to display, I am afraid its is a snowball gathering pace
