The Melvin Hall Community Group of Trustees have been offered a lease of the premises by the London Borough of Bromley with the intention of Melvin Hall being transformed into a local community centre for the benefit of the residents and people of Penge. The Group are registered as a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) and the building will provide facilities and services for the education and social wellbeing of everyone living in the surrounding area. Funds are required for the updating and improvement of the premises to bring them up to a modern standard having been neglected in the past.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The former elderly persons day centre closed down in 2016. Without our intervention the property was likely to have been put up for sale by Bromley Council and sold for residential development. We now hope to be able to provide a needed facility for all sections of the local community.
