Empowering people to improve their green spaces, enhance their environment, and boost wellbeing.
MDCVS believe that strong communities start with healthy well supported residents. We want to run activities across the District aimed at bringing people together to improve their own wellbeing and increase levels of neighbourliness and community support. This includes introducing - "playing out" schemes supporting street play, active children and community cohesion. - wellbeing and themed walks to promote physical activity, peer support and mental wellbeing - launching a "kindness rocks" creative project to bring people together and inspire local residents and visitors to the district - enhance awareness around social isolation and loneliness and give people the skills and confidence to support neighbours sand community members.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
People thrive when communities thrive. Maldon and District CVS wants to support Maldon District to develop into a kind community focussed place to live. Working with the community we can build on ideas and provide support to help people on the edges of the community feel supported, safe and to improve wellbeing. Loneliness and isolation is a growing concern especially for older people and for rural communities. The impact of isolation cuts across both physical and mental health, our ideas will work within communities to bring people together to support each other and be mindful of people at risk or isolation. In addition our plans contribute to supporting children and families to be active in their communities, for people with mental health needs (including loneliness) to be supported and involved and to give something back to others
