MDCVS believe that strong communities start with healthy well supported residents. We want to run activities across the District aimed at bringing people together to improve their own wellbeing and increase levels of neighbourliness and community support. A contribution to MDCVS will help us to be active in the community and support the range of things we offer including community weight management, activities at our Harbour project, support for older people in the community, development of digital skills for the community and promotion of Volunteering

People thrive when communities thrive. Maldon and District CVS wants to support Maldon District to develop into a kind community focused place to live. Working with the community we can build on ideas and provide support to help people on the edges of the community feel supported, safe and to improve wellbeing. Loneliness and isolation is a growing concern especially for older people and for rural communities. The impact of isolation cuts across both physical and mental health, our ideas will work within communities to bring people together to support each other and be mindful of people at risk or isolation.

VolunteerMaldon and District CVS is a local charity to support the local community and voluntary sector. We have a membership of over 100 local charities and groups that provide services to district residents. Our services to them include support with legal structure, access to funding and sector information as well as working with local government to represent the sector at key meetings.
We also provide services direct to local people to help them.get involved with the local community. This includes
- hosting the districts Volunteer Centre,
- running the brilliant Harbour project for people with mental healh issues
- supporting Men in Sheds projects for older men across Essex as the founding partner of the Essex Shed Network
- providing guided support to individuals with barriers to community involvement.
Project Owner: Maldon and District CVS The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
