The art trail is a series of events and exhibitions in local venues from disused shop windows to independent galleries and cafes. It platforms local LGBTQIA+ artists and businesses whilst collaborating with charity and community groups for example the youth group BeYou. Creates opportunities for artists of all levels and ages, enriching their experience of the town, its spaces and community. It seeks to expand and inspire the public’s ideas and experiences, forging positive relationships between communities and ecologies. It will enrich the town, create unique and exciting environments, forging discussion and expanding acceptance of minority peoples. It creates new and exciting experiences in unique spaces for diverse audiences whilst actively brightening up areas of the town that have been under used, including the empty shops at the top of the high street.

What we'll deliver:

  • 18 Exhibitions
  • 5 Workshops
  • 1 Performance
  • Opening events across the town
  • 1 Artists residency in a heritage venue

Strengthens communities from with in and outside the lgbtqia+ community. Brings people to the town to live. Benefits local volunteers with opportunities to have new experiences and learn about project management, exhibitions and performance.
