We are based around kennington in south London and work intently with those from different ethnic, social, and economical groups. We have worked with those who have been affected by crime. We are also the only organisation within the area which has worked closely with various including the Latin American/Spanish and Portuguese community to produce projects to benefit the community at large.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It is a great idea because we are the only community based group in our area which uses football as a means to create social harmony and make a positive impact within the community for everyone regardless of their race, sex and creed. We also are the only group which encourages families to volunteer and give those a chance to develop work experience.
It is also good because we want to get as many of the young people who help us by volunteering on courses to help them develop and increase their chances of employment elsewhere.
Steps to get it done:
Our hard work has seen us filmed by the UK Islam channel on several occasions who have recognised our hardwork. Some of the youngsters we have worked with have been also filmed by this channel and have spoken highly of our work.
We have also featured in a short documentary entitled 'Lambeth's United' which can also be found on youtube. This documentary was commisioned by Hertfordshire university and was entered into a regional film festival and came second. This documentary was about our project.
