A carefully created programme of workshops involving activities such as ceramics, painting, printmaking, and textiles. Ran by professional artists Chloe Henderson and Holly Stone, these workshops are designed to be accessible for total beginners in order to develop skills, build connections and community, and improve wellbeing and confidence. Growing up in Cotswolds Chloe recognizes the lack of opportunities and support for women and the consequences of this. Our aim for this group is to create a safe space for women to be themselves and to empower and uplift each other whilst learning a new skill and having fun! Make Your Marsh is working with the local social prescriber Annabelle Fox and the Community Wellbeing Service to increase the outreach of this project and connect to people struggling with mental health. Make Your Marsh will: - Encourage creativity - Be a space to make new friends and meet people - Develop skills - Improve wellbeing and mental heath
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Not only can art help the health and wellbeing of the individual by alleviating depression, anxiety and loneliness, it also takes pressure of the health and social care services. For example an arts-on-prescription project has shown a 37% drop in GP consultation rates and a 27% reduction in hospital admissions.
