Help make the dreams of the kids in Regent Estate come true! We are working to transform the public space around Marlborough Avenue into a Square for Hackney’s Regent Estate.

As part of this process, in June 2013 we had a workshop with the kids of the local St Paul’s with St Michael’s Primary School. They put their visions and dreams for the space into fanciful dioramas.
What if there were flying pigs and donkeys in Regent Estate? What about a swimming pool in front of the corner shop? Why not a chocolate fountain?
We decided to take on this challenge and make these seemingly unattainable dreams come true!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We will involve kids’ imaginations in the place making process. This will help them take ownership of their public space and play an active role in shaping it.
We will meet the requests of local residents, who have stressed the importance of hosting community events and re-designing the public space in line with kids' needs.
The “dreams coming true” event will contribute to the re-design of the public space, by stimulating its ownership and creative usage by the residents and by fostering a sense of community, neighbourliness and pride in the Estate.
