Empowering local people to develop and support projects that will enhance our shared communal spaces
To make the Ivy Road recreation area a nice place for children to play, I would like people in the area of every age and race and sex to come together and come up with ideas for how to decorate and paint the area. We can have local children or artists come up with ideas to paint the benches and the bins and we can have children / teachers/ volunteers come up with punishments for messing up the area or rewards for keeping the area clean. This would be an awesome way of having volunteers & local community and children all benefit and support the area and the rich cultural diversity. Maybe for one hour between 3.30 - 5.30 we could have a warden ensuring people are not dropping litter or making the area unpleasant
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
For more than 10 years, the area has been unsafe for children to play and it would take peoples time and ideas only to make it a beautiful place for children. We have 2 local schools in the area and there are many children that walk past the area on the way to school. The urban art trail in san diego inspired a book called maybe something beautiful. I think we could make something beautiful from the area. We can get police and teachers and parents and children together to share in making something beautiful. This project will help people get arty and to learn about the area, it will help the area be used for children to play safely and it will help people take care of their rubbish and so help the environments. Also it will help volunteering for people that would like to improve the area.
Steps to get it done:
I hope you like my idea and enjoyed reading.
