We are seeking funding to support the Shakespeare Lantern Parade project to cover the costs of all free lantern making workshops, parade day and celebratory concert. Last years lantern parade, ‘Passing of Planets Lantern Parade’ (based on the planets and the solar system) this was our most successful lantern parade yet with the most number of participants (900 participants). This year, we need your support to make this years parade happen.
The main parade day will take place through the Town Centre on Saturday 14 December.
What we'll deliver:
- Provide a community project within a town centre of all ages, interests and free to participant
- Provide a visual community lantern parade around the theme of 'Shakespeare and this plays'
- Provide free willow lantern making workshops for primary schools and families
Why it's a great idea:
It is the only annual lantern parade that takes place through Maidenhead Town Centre. It involves so many different community groups and schools that would not have access to professional artists and a public setting to showcase their work.
Steps to get it done:
- Norden Farm Centre for the Arts will manage the organisation of the event.
