A lot of work has been done already to establish a Community Company to handle the finances and practicalities of this project. The company is made up of local people and we already have over 20 members. We are working in full partnership with Thurrock Counci, who amy int he future look to hand responsibility for the park over to Friends of Hardie Park CIC.

The two fundraising events and the BMX stunt show were hugely successful with the community coming out in support in their hundreds.

The park is used by a lot of local people who want to see it transformed.

What we'll deliver:

  • Brand new play equipment
  • Seating areas
  • Toilets
  • Cafe
  • Indoor and outdoor facilities
  • Skate Park

Why it's a great idea:

The people of Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham deserve high quality recreational facilities and this community needs a project to work on to bring it together.

This park is already well-used despite its current state, it is an area of huge potential.

Steps to get it done:

  • Through community involvement
  • In partnership with Thurrock Council
  • With successful funding applications
  • With passionate people

If everyone in our town pledged £5 we would be able to afford all that we are aiming for and this would help us lever even more funding into the project.
