The Longton Cricket Club net Rejuvenation Project is aimed to commence in the summer of 2022 once funding has be obtained. The project revolves around the construction of two new high performance cricket lanes for training purposes. One will be laid with a top layer of astro-turf allowing training in all weathers and the second will be that of turf. The two additional nets will be built adjacent to the existing two creating a much improved training facility. This new high performance training facility is guarenteed to attract participation from both local and surrounding areas. This project is essential to maintain the clubs unblemished Premier Division status and vision to be the leading cricket club in North Staffordshire. The net facility will be fully secured by fencing to prevent and possible vandalism or damage.

What we'll deliver:

  • 1 High Performance Asro-turft Cricket Training lane
  • 1 High Performance Turf Cricket Training lane
  • The relaying of the 2 existing nets along with netting and security

Why it's a great idea:

The rejuvenation of Longton cricket club nets along with 2 brand new high performance lanes will act as the catalyst for cricket enthusiasts both young and old. Creating additional training facilities will provide a great opportunity for the club to grow drawing in people of all ethnicities ages and genders. One of the new nets will be turf based, allowing players to replicate match situations with greater effect during training sessions. This project will not only improve players skills but will also double the capacity allowing greater participation of cricket at the club. This project is just the start of Longton cricket clubs 5 year plan for a rejuvenation of further improvements including disabled access, clubhouse restructuring and the addition of two womens changing rooms to accommodate our womens team.
