We are a disability walking football club based in Lincoln started with the support of GLL and in collaboration with Ancaster Day Centre, Aspire and Diversity Day Service providers to support adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities to play walking football. We are looking to raise funds to purchase the following items for our club - - Football kit - Portable Goals - Indoor Balls - Funds to put on a presentation night We hope you are able to help us with this project!!
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
We think this is a great idea as our players enjoy the session so much, it gives them confidence and self-esteem, has a positive effect on fitness and health and allows them to play sport in a safe and inclusive environment. This project will help grow our group, make us more noticeable in the community and recruit new members to the club allowing more people to enjoy this sport that we all love
Steps to get it done:
Our walking football session is enjoyed by many people and has captured the imagination of many at our various day centres. It's not just people who are playing that have enjoyed the benefits of this club but our 'design a shirt' competition has sparked the imagination of many people who attend the day centres and inspired them to be creative and involved. Our partnership with GLL is one of the best things to come from setting up this club and they have been helpful and inspiring. We have been able to train and implement sessions of Kinball, an exciting new sport that has already been a huge success with our team, and we are hoping to look at cycling projects and other things this year.
