The Children's Centre provide activities for families in Northolt and the surrounding areas, including Stay and Play sessions for children aged 0-5 y, Baby Stay and Play infant Massage (0-1 years) and Family Dance sessions. The Centre is in Lime Tress Park, the play area is currently a grey area and an old sandpit that has been covered up. We have been working with families delivering workshops around recycling, habitats, growing and cooking workshops. Teaching families how to live a greener and healthier lifestyle. Our aim is to create an outdoor learning space with mud kitchen, sand play, seating and planters for families to be able to learn more about gardening, local environment, be able to grow veg/fruit and be able to facilitate more outdoor workshops, around the environment, wildlife and habitats. The space can also be used for reading time and other learning activities. Our aim is to support the centre with more environmental, gardening and cooking workshops.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The project will benefit the community centre, and wider community with a space for children to grow and learn together. The garden will also create a nice environemnt for outdoor workshops and learning about the environment, wildlife in the park and give young families and their childten a chance to engage with nature. This project will also be able to teach young families and children about the environment and wildlife, global warming and learn together on ways to support their local environment and the planet to be greener and cleaner. The workshops will include Outdoor Explorers sessions for 2 - 5 year olds and also Cooking Kids sessions for 3-5 year olds teaching parents/carers and young children how to grow and cook healthy vegetarian meals.
