We want to light up Birchgrove high street and shopping district with Christmas lights and displays. This will help us attract shoppers and rejuvinate the area.

Cardiff Council is working in partnership with the BBG to deliver a regeneration project to bring about environmental improvements to the shopping area. The aim of the plan is to bring long term redevelopment to Birchgrove shopping area but putting up Christmas lights is a great way of attracting shoppers in the short term

Why it's a great idea:
The high street used to be a great place for local residents to come and socialise as well as do their shopping. Many people came by the shops most days and the friendly atmosphere between shoppers and traders was one of the main reasons.
Putting up new and attractive Christmas lights will bring people to the high street and help reignite that community spirit.

VolunteerThe Birchgrove Business Group (BBG) is a group of traders who represent businesses in the Birchgrove Shopping Centre in Cardiff. The group has around 15 members who are working together to improve the shopping area to sustain and encourage people to use the shops and services on offer.
Project Owner: The Project Owner takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
