Our LGBTQ+ Radio Station provides informations, news and entertainment for the LGBTQ+ local community, support local Pride festivals and events with live coverage. Coverage will include: Sunderland, Newcastle, Gateshead, Whitley Bay and Tyne and Wear. Our station has been successfully broadcasting online and now we are ready for the next step! It’s aimed at the LGBTQ+ community, however can be enjoyed by everyone. Our claim is Music With Sparkle as we don’t play the usual mainstream playlist, but only big anthems. We offer a variety of shows, live and pre-recorded, on different themes: every show has a specific format, which makes every show unique. We develop shows in house but also open up our platform to other presenters. One of our highlighted traits from professional presenters is that we offer the opportunity to aspiring presenters. We help and give them guidance, develop their skills in presenting, editing, broadcasting laws and regulations etc and then provide them airt
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Broadcast important informations for the LGBTQ+ community, offer an inclusive place for volunteering and work placements, entertain and inform with news specifically tailored for the LGBTQ+ community, support and cover local LGBTQ+ events. In the part 2 years, we have covered a whole Pride Season (from Dover, to London, to Brighton & Hove, to Birmingham, and many others) to ensure that even those who cannot attend pride can enjoy. We were approached by Parapride to help with their first ever Pride festivals targeted towards people with disabilities. We have worked with them ever since and accessibility is always at the forefront of our minds where we are able to effectively provide it. The creation of a studio in Kent will bring a safe space for the local LGBTQ+ community where volunteers will be able to upskill and learn new skills in the radio industry
