Employment 4 All By Employment 4 All

Employment is the most effective way of giving people independence, financial security and a sense of belonging. We aim to help at least 10 homeless people in Kent to gain employment each month.

We will source employment opportunities with revolutionary and forward thinking employers with social value hiring practices, for all those with experience of disadvantage to gain employment, independence, inclusion and control over their lives.  The impact of Covid-19 has widened inequalities amongst homeless people and made it harder for them to get employment.  We adopt an holistic approach with the wrap around employment support. We include confidence building and wellbeing support, CV and mock interview training, appropriate referrals to partner charities and organisations. All money donated will help individuals who are in crisis with support for incidental needs for basics such as food, travel, clothing, phone credit, access to IT/ Tablets, ID, funding industry cards/permits such as CSCS (Construction Roles), SIA (Security Roles), travel to interviews/work. This extra funding will provide much needed support and amazing opportunities – hence, why we appreciate every penny.

What we'll deliver:

  • 10 homeless Kent job seekers gaining employment
  • Employment Support, Meet the Employer Events, Interview Training, Confidence building, CV
  • Provide access to IT to complete job applications, support with clothing (interview/work wear)
  • Support with travel costs for interview/ initial few weeks until paid

Why it's a great idea:

Our experienced and dedicated employer engagement consultants will secure supported, or ‘ring fenced’ employment opportunities and access to specialist recruitment events to break down barriers to employment for the disadvantaged and underrepresented, to transform lives. We have a proven track record to demonstrate that disadvantaged candidates make successful and valued members of staff.

Steps to get it done:

  • Receiving referrals from hostels/ homeless charities
  • Information, Advice and Guidance sessions to determine suitable roles to source

Those with experience of homelessness often also have experience of other disadvantages such as poverty, Offending History, Physical or Learning Disability, Identify as BAME/BIPOC, Care Leavers, Ex Armed Forces, Victims of abuse. Rough sleepers were given accommodation due to the pandemic, we want them to support themselves and bring about lasting change for them and the wider community.
