Offering children free creative workshops to develop skills, make friends and have fun! Each session the children will be provided with a lego pack full of bits and pieces which is needed to build something. For example, session 1 would be to build a car, session 2 would be a plane and so on. Each session will have different things to build. Me and my partner, a 'lego helper' will be there to supervise the children and help them if they come across and difficulties when constructing the lego. The children will race in building the same item and the winner may get a lego prize to take home. These sessions will be available to children over the age of 8 due to the lego parts being a hazard to little children. I aim to take 12 children per session. This will be on a first come first serve basis. I will create and hand out flyers, have some flyers available to pick up in the Church Street Library, as well as advertise through word of mouth and through social media.

What we'll deliver:

  • 20 free sessions of lego building for over 8's
  • Lego packs to build each session will be provided to the children

Why it's a great idea:

I believe that this project will benefit young children to become more creative and will also encourage children to try new things out. Teamwork and resilience when they come across difficulties in building their object. This project will be fun and enjoyable to the children and also to their parents as they race to construct their object of the week. A competitive spirit during the sessions will bring out the competitiveness within the children.

Steps to get it done:

  • buying lego packs for the children to use.

Our venue will be the Fisherton preschool or at the Church Street Library. This location is just a short walk from Church Street market and is at the heart of the community. Each session will be an hour-long running after school for the children. If you know a child who would like to get involved - get in touch!
