The tenants of the housing estate around Lambeth Walk want to make this project happen for the benefit of the whole community and anyone who comes to visit. We have a fantastic design ready to go, a contractor ready to start, but a shortfall in funds. With your support we can get to the finishing line and build this garden. It will be an urban oasis, a place where people of all ages and backgrounds will be able to kick back and relax, to catch up with friends, have informal meetings, or simply read a book on a bench in solitude.

What we'll deliver:

• Install benches to provide ample seating for visitors
• Install planters
• Plant native trees, evergreen hedging and perennials which attract bees and butterflies
• Resurface the paved area with brick pavers, sandstone paving and Breedon gravel

Why it's a great idea:

It will transform what is there now - a depressing expanse of paving - into a beautiful green space for the public to enjoy. London desperately needs more green space but importantly it needs more social space outdoors too and this project delivers both in one go.

And it will provide a catalyst for genuine community-led regeneration of the immediate area.

Steps to get it done:

• We will apply for grants and donations elsewhere if we need to.
• We aim to start the build in early part of 2016
• We have a professionally specified design ready and a world class landscape contractor..
• We will raise funds by crowdfunding.
