We want to improve a neglected, open green space in Knighton near to St Mary's Church. We plan a range of improvements to benefit wildlife and encourage local people to do more in their own gardens.

Knighton Green can be found close to St Mary's Church Knighton and is bounded by Kenwood Rd, Church Lane and Kingsmead Rd. It is an area with open access and a variety of habitats - grass, spinney, stream and hedges. However we see there is scope for improving an area that receives minimal maintenance to enhance the range and quality of wildlife habitats. It is a popular area which many local people pass through, children play and dogs are walked. We want to both improve the area and provide information for people about how gardens and other local green spaces can be enhanced and improved for wildlife.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Knighton Green is a valuable green space in the heart of the old village of Knighton.. We want to make this place more welcoming for wildlife and show how simple ideas can have a big impact.
Steps to get it done:
We will have a management agreement with the city council setting out our mutual responsibilities. The improvements will be overseen by a local volunteer working group.
