Amersham’s popular outdoor gym is a fantastic example of what community fundraising can achieve, and we’d love to see the playground on the King George V playing field revamped.
This project is preparing for fundraising. Click Like to show your support, or Follow for updates on this project's journey.
We’d like to gauge opinion on what people would like to see here so we can scope the cost and engage all the relevant parties who have previously mooted the idea and who want to see it happen.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It would need permission from the council, which owns the land, but the playground was built nearly 20 years ago and needs more than a lick of paint. With a number of great schools in the area, ensuring our children have safe, modern play facilities is of great importance to us. And with the government’s Playbuilder scheme cancelled, we’ll need to raise the funds through the community.
Steps to get it done:
We’d be delighted to hear people’s thoughts on what this should look like and receive any interest out there on helping with the design, build and funding so that a full plan can be drawn up and costed, allowing us to move to the next stage and raise the funding.
