Its goal is to highlight communities resources and projects, to connect actors campaigning for a fairer London and to identify strategic cooperations. The particularity of justMap is to mix online process and public workshops to address a wider and more diverse audience. The project has started a year ago and nine workshops have been run for the moment. It has been initiated by Just Space, a coalition of more than 80 groups all across London. See http://justplace-london.blogspot.co.uk/ The objective is to develop a tool : - to make more visible who and what matters in in all London neighbourhoods, - to share specific knowledge between groups working on similar issues, and in particular affected by the current redevelopment, - to connect, cooperate and build alliances. And all this both locally and across the metropolis.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
People can find out what is happening in London. see first maps here : http://justplace-london.blogspot.co.uk/p/map-visualisations.html Working with the London Tenants Federation and others community groups can learn to how they can improve facilities.
Steps to get it done:
1. Create a website an up-to-date knowledge and resources hub for sharing learning and good practice; 2. Use mapping tools to quantify the extent of neighbourhood planning; 3. Deliver a programme of events to share learning and best practice; 4. Provide Consultancy services as standard packages or bespoke solutions; 5. Fee e-newsletter for periodic email update of comments and interesting developments in the community sector plus an update on Just Space members; 6. Identify new partners in the neighbourhood planning and engage communities; 7. Build a body of case studies, resources and publications on neighbourhood planning in the context of social housing; 8. Quality standards that can be accessed as standard toolkits and guidelines to meet IT industry standards of practice;
