An eco lodge specifically catering to touring cyclists, with room for up to 36 people at any one time. Alongside this would sit a bar and restaurant, as well as facilities aimed at relaxation such as a yoga hall and a sauna. The site would aim to adhere to ecological principles, for example being built from local wood, with solar panels, compost toilet, and water collection.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Cyclists participating in the LEJOG tour are on the trip of a lifetime and reach the end of their adventure with a huge sense of achievement. However, once arriving at John O'Groats they are often left underwhelmed upon realising the poor provision of accommodation in the area. Many just take a photo at the sign and then depart for Inverness or another city. We believe there is large interest and opportunity for the town in creating an eco lodge specifically designed to host cyclists.
