This project was funded on 21 Jun 2023!

Our ethos is to promote ‘prevention is better than cure’. We embody this and we strive to support families within the county to create social prescribing and early interventions on a large scale. Most importantly we teach how to manage their mental and physical wellbeing, to give adults and children the tools to support them during times of low mood and prevent mental health crisis. The event will be over 8 different wellbeing zones spread over the area of Rivington, Lancashire. ✓ Nutrition Zone ✓ Holistic Health Zone ✓ Water Sports and Activities Zone ✓ Land Sports and Activities Zone ✓ Education Zone ✓ Hobby and Crafts Zone ✓ Givers Gain Zone - to promote volunteering and fundraising for Charities and CIC's ✓ Physical Health Zone

What we'll deliver:

  • The event will be over 8 different wellbeing zones spread over the area of Rivington, Lancashire.
  • We will provide a music and sound area in 2 of the zones
  • We will to provide a marquee for the Nutrition Zone
  • We will provide full Health and Safety Assessments and Insurances
  • We will provide stewarding on the day
  • We need to present marketing for the event and a website

Why it's a great idea:

To give families an opportunity to bond together outside their normal daily environment. To educate them on mental and physical, nutrition, wildlife, crafts and local services. To promote social prescribing to local community sports and activity groups. To engage with other people in the community by participating in challenges and fundraising events over the weekend. To experience new things that they do not normally do, like climbing, paddle boarding, group meditation, making environmentally friendly products. The best benefit we can give families is time. Time to make memories.

Steps to get it done:

  • Engage with over 1000 families through the event to inspire and educate
  • Increase Social Prescriptions to local services, activities and events
  • Get over 2000 people attending the event
  • Increase local economy by buying local products and services
  • To teach parents and children how to start to manage their mental and Physical Wellbeing

We know Rivington is a the perfect place to host an outdoor wellbeing event. This will be fantastic for local businesses to benefit from such events and in return increasing the growth and feel good factor of the community. We want to also promote families to sign up for activities and sports with our partners for the summer holidays to maintain the new family bonds that have been created from the event and to enjoy family time in the great outdoors. Partners that have agreed to support the event. ◦ The Anderton Outdoor Centre ◦ Bolton Arena ◦ Bolton Wanderers in the Community ◦ Rivington Heritage Trust We have another 12 charities, CIC's that want to be involved
