This project will allow the elders from the surrounding area including partnership working with organisations such as Age UK and Lawrence Close to come togther and partner up with the young people in the area to create a community garden at the rear of Caxton Hall and allow better understandaing between these two generations. This will also require the cleaning up of the local area from litter and leaf-picking to graffiti and dirt removal and the implementation of a mural in the Four Seasons Greemn for the elderly and then the redesign of the congrete pitch into a 3D play area for the youths.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The area around Caxton Hall is very dull and isolated. This regeneration is needed to bring some life back to the area as well as reduce ASB and enhance community cohesion via this intergenerational work. So there is something for everyone
Steps to get it done:
ultimately it will promote better understanding between the two generations. Elderly get their garden and resting area the youths get their 3D playpitch for football and basketball etc with a net across the top to prevent balls going across to the railway line and creating a danger for all
