Gwynjim Gymnastics is an existing gymnastics club in the Bangor area of Gwynedd. The Gym club enables children to develop their strength, co-ordination, flexibility and self-confidence. It currently serves both English and welsh speaking children in the Gwynedd and Anglesey areas. The Club has members between the ages of 3-11, and employs 11 staff on a part time and voluntary basis. The business is structured as a non-profit making company, limited by guarantee. The club currently runs from temporary facilities over two sites and thus restricts the number of children that can benefit
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
The priority issues that we are going to address are:
Welsh Language development through sport. Encouraging linguistic identity through use of the welsh language out of school hours in sport.
Access to gymnastics for children with special education, physical and emotional needs. The sessions will be available for all children, adapted where appropriate to support children with more complex needs.
Multi agency working within the community, incorporating schools, police and health.
Stratergies to challenge Obesity and nutrition amongst children and young people.
.
Excluded and vulnerable children and young people.
Ynys Mon and Gwynedd have 6 each of the 100 most deprived electoral divisions in Wales., the venue will be a hub within the area to bring the community together, offering young people a venue to spend time following problems which led to the Bangor Night time dispersal order to tackle anti social behaviour.
Sports development with the area.
