Bourne Town Bowls Club are making significant improvements to its premises and bowling facilities to make them fully inclusive to all in the community. The Club is situated in a lovely environment that not only provides a sport  that anyone can play but a!so give those using the facilities great social opportunities and the chance to establish new friendships.

The Club have provided all the necessary bowling resources such as bowls and equipment so new bowlers only need a pair of flat soled shoes. 

The club web site and Facebook pages give lots of information about the club and how anyone can join in this great facility including a full social programme.

The new facilities will be part of the clubs plan to provide safe facilities for the full 12 months including providing Carpet Bowls indoors during the close of the outdoor season.

The Club has undergone a development plan with the Bowls Alliance and have a 3 to 5 year development plan that will increase menbership and give opportunities to all making it totally inclusive. 

Apart from members using the facilities there will be opportunities for individuals and groups to take part in the activities whether it is bowling or socialising and making new friendships. One such group is a Lawn Bowling group from the U3A which started with 10 members and has now grown to 45 people using the bowling facilities weekly. Most of these never played the sport of Lawn Bowls previously. This is a good indication that there are many people who would like to play  a sport such as bowls given the opportunity. It also shows that there are many people wanting to do such activities that provides good social contacts on a regular basis and where they can develop new friendships.

The opportunities for other groups is a key part of the Clubs development plan. It is also part of the plan to ensure the facilities are open to families and friends of all ages an abilities. Our Key aim is to be totally inclusive.
