A weekly community empowerment clubs. Girls will have workshops on work skills and life skills. The young people will be taught taught to write CVs, personal statements and interview skills. The girls will also get the opportunity to develop their presentation skills through debates and skills work shops.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Some BAME girls look around them and don't see anybody that looks like them in careers they aspire to be. D.I.V.A. Empowerment, we want to give the young people the skills, confidence and sense of belonging to a community that will grow and intern support other BAME. Creating D.I.V.A. Empowerment gives the young people drive self-awareness and direction to where they want to go after they leave school or college. When the programme gets bigger we plan to hold careers events for young BAME girls to further inspire them to be the best version of themselves, thus removing them from negative street activity such as gang activity.
Steps to get it done:
We plan to work within the community and schools to increase self-awareness, empowerment and careers education.
