Food poverty affects thousands of families across Hounslow and is the number one preventable form of poverty in the UK. We want to cook food at Hounslow Youth Centre and distribute it to those in need across Hounslow, regardless of age, race, religion or disability. We as a nation need to step up to take care of the most vulnerable and hounslow Soup Kitchen aims to provide a replicable model to systematically eradicate food poverty in London and beyond! Your support will pay for food, transport and logistics as well as core costs.
What we'll deliver:
- We aim to feed over 1000 people weekly
- We aim to bring awareness of how people can shop and cook smart
- We want to teach people how to cook inexpensive healthy food
Why it's a great idea:
We will eradicate hunger in hounslow. We want no child to go to bed with an empty stomach just because their parents find it tough to make ends meet. This organisation shouldn't exist- but we need to because the conditions are right.
Steps to get it done:
- Setting up of our multimedia section of our website to make informative videos.
- Buying food supplies to cook and containers for delivery

Hounslow Soup Kitchen is the culmination of five years of charity work in Hounslow.
Run by local arts organisation Poetical Word, HSK seeks to eradicate food poverty in Hounslow through a dynamic volunteer base.
Essentially we cook food and deliver it to those who are hungry. We want to ensure no child goes to bed on an empty stomach
Project Delivery Manager: Poetical Word C.I.C. The Project Delivery Manager takes legal responsibility for receiving and spending the funds raised and ensuring the project is delivered.
