We are a small community pre-school that has been in the village of Holt for over 50 years. We are well loved and get involved in many community events bringing people together and building strong links within the community. Many people in our community have either attended pre-school themselves or have children or grandchildren who have. We sing to members of the Luncheon club, run events to fundraise for the pre-school, organise social events and get togethers for all generations, support those in need and we work together to address isssues at the earliest possible stage.
Our pre-school building is a dilapidated building which needs to be replaced and we have been trying to raise funds for its replacement over the last 18 months. We have raised £155,000 so far and are determined to raise the remaining funds. We cannot imagine the village without the pre-school and we need it to continue!
We are passionate about our surroundings and teach the children how to make little changes to protect the environment and encourage biodoversity. The new building would be the first of its kind in the village with aims to be zero carbon and xero energy.
We care about our community and the new building would offer a well-designed space for the community to use. We are proud of our committment to be an all-inclusive setting and have strict equality, diversity and inclusion policies in place.
We welcome volunteers and help from the community which includes volunteers from the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. We also provide much needed employment opportunitieis in the area and the new building would allow this to continue.
We offer good quality years education and play experiences to our children and play an important role in promoting positive physical, emotional and cognitive development. This is crucial in the early years, when building blocks are established and laying the foundations to provide greater resilience.
We cannot let our pre-school close!
