The pre school modular building has reached the end of its life and is no longer being supported by Wiltshire Council. It is in need of maintenance and is suffering from damp and is not considered to be eco friendly. A new building would: provide improved washing and toilet facilities, reduce the carbon footprint of the building, improve the use of floor space, strengthen links with the primary school, church and community, meet the demand for childcare places in the area, increase the opportunities for community uses and continue to provide employment for the existing 7 members of staff.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
- A reduced carbon footprint - Employment opportunities for 7 staff - Improved and enhanced early years facilities for learning and play - Improved child washing and toilet facilities - More effective use of floor space - Improved links with the primary school ensuring the children are familiar with the primary school site and facilities - Increased opportunities for community uses of the building - Continued use of the existing play equipment and outdoor area which is already in place and was paid for by the community - Opportunities for the community to access childcare at a setting that is consistently rated as “Good” and reducing the need to drive to other settings - Opportunities for parents to build relationships and access support - Improved building design to improve the emotional well-being of the children through carefully designed lighting and decor - Allowing a setting that is full with no additional top up fees and access to fully funded sessions
