Enabling everyone to imagine, fund & launch local projects that bring Worcestershire to life.
HITZ uses Sports core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to get young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) back into education or employment. Hitz supports the most vulnerable young people in Worcester including those with homeless backgrounds, aggression, behavioural problems, learning difficulties and an array of back ground issues that may include drugs, alcohol and family issues. HITZ has a strong record at re engaging the most at risk young people in our society through the power of sport combined with education. HITZ supports over 30 learner per year who are with us in full time education and will gain qualifications such as GCSE maths/English, functional skills, Btec sport and much more. They will work with local businesses through work experience and have the opportunity to stay with us for as long as needed before they are supported back into education or work.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
HITZ has an incredible record of changing the lives of the most vulnerable people in our community. The benefits are endless from more young people returning to employment, education and training. Less young people on the streets, homeless, using drus or causing problems. Support for the community with more young people going from a negative future of unemployment, prison and offending to positive role models for our community who will be employed and have a story to tell to others in their previous position. Supporting the police, homelessness, care teams and youth offending HITZ will offer support and education to the most vulnerable and with our previous success rate of over 90% for supporting young people back into education and employment we know exactly what we need to do to make HITZ work
Steps to get it done:
HITZ has had to go on hold over the lockdowns due to our classroom being unavailable due to its location. We now have a new facility but need to kit the classroom out as its an empty room currently hence the need for financial support to get learner what they will need
