To extend and widen the current aged archery range, re-using the existing wooden wall panels and adding additional new panels as needed.

Adding a waterproof block retaining wall to the target end of the range.
Re roofing the entire length of the range with a single pitch roof made from new metal roofing sheets, supported by lightweight metal joists which in turn will be supported at each end by concrete posts installed outside the walls of the range.

This would make the construction and dimensions of the Archery facilitiies a truly all year round, non weather dependent, fully accessible activity for all vistiors, of all abilities, to Fanwoods.
Having completed this building project, Fanwoods can then work with the appropriate specialist organisations to add the correct equipment to enable people with visual or hearing imparements and / or physical and learning disabilities to enjoy archery allongside their non impared friends and associates.

Why it's a great idea:
In addition to its solid base of Scout and Guide users, Fanwoods is reaching out to the wider commuinity in the shape of Schools, Colleges, and other non scouting youth based organisations. Offering everyone the opportuinity to partake in outdoor activities and residential experiences in order to enrich and build their group and individual / personal learning and development.
