Since the arrival of Morrisons and therefore the loss of Coleshill's main parking area, the historic High Street has seen a huge drop in revenue and footfall. This is not helped by the poor signage from Morrisons to the High Street. Creating a clear and attractive route and gateway between the two areas, coupled with creation of desperately-needed parking areas and attractions for all age groups is essential to ensure the long-term survival of the Town Centre

What we'll deliver:

• Find a solution to the lack of responsibility for the slabbed walkway in Chamberlain walk
• An attractive archway at both ends of Chamberlain Walk
• Clear maps showing the routes to the High Street
• Clear route signs
• Explore possible ways to cut through traffic and congestion
• Persevere with Love Coleshill's pressure on local authorities to improve the parking situation

Why it's a great idea:

Coleshill has been a major thoroughfare and trading centre since the Georgian mail- coach era but is rarely visited b y the majority of local residents. The central trading area is essential to those of limited mobility or with no private transport and, as public transport continues to be cut, it will become even more essential to avoid traffic congestion and environmental pollution caused by frequent car joureys to other areas
