By hull homeless community project
To provide the city of Hull with a mobile hub for use by the homeless and rootless community, our residents and visitors offering food, essentials, outreach support and a friendly point of contact.
Sorry this project was unsuccessful, we did not reach our fundraising goal.
We are hoping to purchase a mobile catering vehicle to use as an efficient and flexible means of reaching the homeless and rootless community of Hull. It will be a multipurpose vehicle also used for mobile outreach and support, meaning we can cover more of the City on any given day rather than being static in one place. We will further utilise the vehicle by offering information and advice to the general public and visitors to Hull on homelessness, people worried about homelessness, services available and work carried out in the City. This vehicle has many possible uses and there is the scope for attending City events, awareness campaigns, fetes, fairs, festivals etc. In doing so we have the potential to use it in such a way to help raise much needed funds for the charity and promote ourselves and all the other wonderful services that exist in and around our City. As well as providing food and drinks to those in need, our support workers are also on hand to offer advice and assistance
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
It's never been done in our City and we believe that we can truly reach those in need and ensure they have access to support and services. It breaks down social barriers and provides a different approach to tackling social issues. It inspires confidence in the ability of social enterprise groups and small charities to be able to make a lasting, tangible difference to the people of the community in which they live supporting already vital existing services and strengthening bonds between those services, community groups, the general public and service users.
Steps to get it done:
We hope to continue to show that the people of Hull have a real passion and ability to stand up together and tackle social issues head on, to bring communities together and support each other.
