Here at Help4Hoodies we want to bring the Children back out into the Community to learn how to re-socialise, communicate effectively and rebuild self confidence through projects, positive guidance and interaction. Since lockdown has been eased, we have seen a large influx of youth offenders in the area and we'd like to help combat this by offering alternatives. By providing access to a Youth Centre within our local community, open to 8-18 year olds we can offer a safe space to all. Young people are often both excluded from community discourses and seen as the problem in communities. However, they depend more than adults on their immediate neighbourhood for their social life. As such places for young people to meet should be an important part of community provision, alongside , leisure centres, schools, and community centres.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
With COVID-19 making a monumental impact within all our communities, we are seeing unemployment sore, families living on the breadline due to being placed on furlough and Domestic violence cases increase 10 fold. These children are often hurt, isolated and unhappy. Youth clubs can be great places for kids to get back on their feet, with renewed confidence and a real sense of well-being. Not only this, but they may well also find that they are able to make new friends and to become part of a new social group. I am the director of a local Healthcare Employment agency so have access to a experienced, trained, compliant workforce that could be instrumental to the youth centre.
