Help Glastonbury CC Survive Covid-19

Glastonbury Cricket Club By Glastonbury Cricket Club

During the COVID-19 crisis, suspension of all cricket activities means that we have no income coming into the club. We need your help to cover critical costs and be ready to restart once it's over!

This project was funded on 15 May 2020!

This fund will be used to help the cricket club get through the current covid-19 crisis. We still have bills to pay despite no income from membership and training fees etc.We are looking to raise a small amount of funds to help cover our basic running costs during this time. We appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone but any support from members and the wider community, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. This will ensure our survival and help get us up and running as quickly as possible for the local youth once cricket activities can resume. It is important for the Club that we can provide youth cricketing activities at a subsidised cost, accessible to all, and this fund should help.

What we'll deliver:

  • Funding to cover critical club overheads
  • Help to ensure survival of the Cricket Club in Glastonbury
  • Continue to provide accessible youth cricket to the local community
  • Refurbish outdoor nets, if sufficient funds

Why it's a great idea:

By ensuring the survival of Glastonbury Cricket Club, we will continue to encourage more youngsters to learn, develop and enjoy their cricket. It will encourage them to stay active and fit and enhance their physical and mental wellbeing. Local residents will also continue to enjoy seeing youngsters playing and learning organised sport on the Tor S&L playing fields. It will also provide opportunities for the wider Glastonbury community to come together and reconnect. The monies raised will help to ensure that the club is not at risk of folding once cricket activities are resumed, whenever that might be.

Steps to get it done:

  • Run crowdfunding campaign
  • Start planning for the end of lockdown
  • Prepare the nets and ground for cricket to resume

Our youth cricketing activities are open to youngsters of all abilities and are provided at a highly subsidised cost. This is to make them as accessible as possible to the local community and this fundraising will help us to continue with this approach for the benefit of all.
