Young people are consigned to fending for themselves in the Mental Health space. This is particularly acute for NEET young BAME communities. In collaboration create a culturally sensitive space offer.

The funding raised will go towards building a small space that is currently a parking area in Ealing. We will bring this back into use and it is situated near a quiet part of the street with easy access to public transport and Council services as well as a thriving town center. The newly created space will provide culturally sensitive mental health support to local young people that are often overlooked and do not access formal professional services. The service will be provided by professionals on a rota basis with volunteers from the NHS Mental Health services and those trained to deliver culturally appropriate mental health services.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project is the distillation of months of work in the local community who have prioritised this activity as it is deemed urgent. Southall Community Habitat (SCH) is an unique community initiative and innovative in many ways. SCH is community led and community controlled though its membership stakeholder model. Looking to providing affordable homes with mental health support services. SCH is a membership based organisation which will democratically act on community decisions with the residents & tenants, all having the right to vote on how it is managed and run. The initial project is planned to be delivered in Ealing Borough with purpose built center for services. SCH will deliver culturally sensitive services to marginalised young BAME people and others that do not access services as they are not suitable or welcoming. SCH will provide a safe space in the form of the community building from where individuals may be supported and signposted to access existing provision.
Steps to get it done:
SCH also intends to provide supported housing as part of their follow on service in partnership with the local Council and Housing Associations.
