The HAPPY Hub is in the heart of Basildon's, Eastgate Shopping Centre and is a vibrant one-stop-wellness shop which promotes and supports mental health through the use of the NHS 5 ways to wellbeing and positive psychological techniques. To support our long-term sustainability we sell a wide range of mental health resources, which we believe is the first shop to specialise, we are also in the process of setting up the wellness cafe, serving drinks and light snacks, with a pay-it-forward ethos to support those who might be unable to afford it. As a safe, calming place, the HAPPY Hub welcomes everyone and there is always someone on hand ready to listen, and signpost if needed. It is a place where valuable life expereince is shared, hope is given, confidence is built and the community of all ages comes together.

Why it's a great idea:
The HAPPY Hub is a great idea because we are open to everyone, regardless of age or postcode. There are no wait lists, just turn up and join in activities that have been designed to promote positive mental health. Also at the hub people can access our team of mental health trained staff, that also have a wealth of life experience who can share invaluable knowledge. The HAPPY Hub is supported by a fantastic volunteer team who have gone on their wellness journey, which started with hope as a Wellness Warrior, evolving to a Wellness Champion as they grow through training and the undertaking of responsibility. Because our wellness shop is in the heart of the community and run by the community, we offer a unique, practical solution to promoting and supporting health and wellbeing. Helping people realise their potential and flourish is our priority, as well as promoting and showcasing the positivity within our community.

VolunteerOffically formulated in 2015, we set up as a life-long wellbeing provider, to help people regardless of age, past or current circumstances with barriers that hold them back.
The foundation of our provision stems from the NHS five ways to wellbeing; Connecting with others, being active, continued learning, giving to others and mindfulness. As well as positive psychology whereby, focus is given to individual strengths and facilitating skill-sets which aid achievement and fulfil potential.
As a CIC, we believe in having our customers at the heart of what we do. Over the years our customers have steered the direction of Motivated Minds and helped us recognise the various barriers which challenge optimum health. Our bottom up approach has enabled us to build unique provisions which engage and empower, and help our customers thrive by the most unique, creative and person-centered means.
Our success is driven by our passion, high standards, and our ability to fill the current health gaps and move our customers into improved health.
In the last year alone, we have supported 1899 people and ran over 1075 sessions across the Basildon Borough.
