Loneliness is a big issue for disabled people living locally and you can help change this. We are holding a Halloween Half Term Fun Day to fundraise for social activities for disabled children and adults across West Sussex. We are looking for local businesses and people to pledge their support! How you can help: - Make a donation to cover the costs of the event - Donate a prize to the raffle - Donate children’s clothing, books and toys for our kid’s jumble sale by dropping them off at Independent Lives office in Worthing - Come along to the Halloween Fun Day on Wednesday 24th October at Heene Road Community Centre, Worthing – 1.30pm – 5pm - If you run children’s workshops, activities or classes locally and would be happy to run a session for free at the Fun Day we would love to have you there. All proceeds raised at the fun day go to providing social activities for disabled children and adults across West Sussex, and will kickstart our ongoing fundraising for this cause.

What we'll deliver:

  • An event that will be widely marketed to bring new people to the town centre, boosting local economy
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Participatory opportunities for local people, with particular focus on hard to reach groups
  • Makes Worthing a destination for tourism, helping the local economy.
  • Enables people from diverse backgrounds to come together in a celebratory event
  • A community event for our local area
  • Will help us kickstart our fundraising campaign Out for lunch! which helps disabled people out and about

Why it's a great idea:

The Halloween Half Term Fun Day is an inclusive event for the family, at Heene Road Community Centre, Worthing, 1.30pm - 5pm on Wednesday 24th October 2018. We are are crowdfunding to cover the cost of the event and also for prizes. This will allow us to make the fun day free to attend, and most importantly raise funds through a raffle, spooky fancy dress competition, kid's jumble sale, candy floss and craft activities! All proceeds raised at the fun day go to providing social activities for disabled children and adults across West Sussex. By pledging your support you will help disabled people living in our community, to combat loneliness.

Steps to get it done:

  • Donations to cover the costs of the event
  • Local businesses donate prizes for the raffle, tombola and auction
  • Donation of children’s clothing, books & toys for kid’s jumble sale (drop-off at our office)
  • If you run children’s workshops, activities or classes & can run a session for free at the Fun Day
  • Come to the Halloween Fun Day on Wednesday 24th October at Heene Road Community Centre, Worthing – 1.30pm – 5pm
