We aim to transform the Gurnell Grove park into a multi functional site so that people of all ages can make the most of their local green space. The park sits next to Gurnell Grove Estate and at the moment has an old, broken and disused playground in a large field mainly used as a dog toilet. The park has lots off potential to help bring people together and provide a variety of opportunities to make that happen. We carried out a survey with the help of other people living on the estate to find out what they would like to see in this space, many of our neighbours would like to enjoy nature, exercise, have fun, meet new people, volunteer and enjoy living in one of Londons greenest boroughs. This project will provideIt will also provide an opportunity for people of all ages to enageg in activities in a safe and fun environment, by encouragin people to take part in play, sport and gardening.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
This project has the potential to not only transform a neglected green park in desperate need of renewal and use but also play its part in transforming the local community in which it lies in - offering a place for local residents to exercise, meet new people , have fun, volunteer and build a bigger sense of community. It also aims to play its part in tackling some of the issues that young people face in providing a space that appeals to them so that they will want to spend positive time and energy.
