Grozone is open 3 or 4 days a week to everyone and anyone who wants to volunteer. We garden, do arts and crafts, construction, outdoor cooking, music workshops and sessions for toddlers. We are rare as a volunteer opportunity in that we don't require our volunteers to dedicate a set day or amount of time, the garden is there for people to use as little or as often as they like. There are currently 3 members of staff on hand to help people with the days tasks and offer support. Grozone itself is a gentle, magical place that offers a calm, healing atmosphere to all who look for one.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Research as shown that just looking at green space from a hospital bed is proven to increase recovery rate after an operation, so just imagine what spending time within a beautiful garden can do for ones health and well being. Grozone is a vital part of the community, allowing access to a safe and interesting space and opportunity to socialise, relax and learn.
Steps to get it done:
This project is fantastic for mental and physical well being and increasing social skills of those who may be isolated otherwise.
