The project would bring together the local residents and businesses in a community driven scheme to positively effect the Wandsworth Bridge Road. Flood-retention benefits would reduce risks to health and property while boosting biodiversity in vegetation and animal population in the area. Adding greenery would also enrich the aesthetic of the street making it more attractive for visitors and patrons of the existing shops and restaurants. For the residents living above the shops; the planting would act as a small garden, complimenting their view. It would also act as a barrier for the sound and noise pollution from the street below.
