The project will generate interest in the area which is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Forrest of bowland. We wish to bring appreciation of the history of the parish through the upgrade of the footpaths and the public rights of way by installing new stiles and kissing gate . By installing finger marker signs incorporating QR codes relating to the nearest historical building/location (46 listed buildings, and wells, crosses,schools,churches as well as natural features like rivers,brooks, old meadow and pastureland just to name a few.

Why it's a great idea:
The footpaths through the open countryside ( over 8500acres one of the largest in the country) will 1. Get people active 2. Help mental health and wellness 3. Schools and general public take advantage of the local history and culture/heritage. 4. Access on some trails for the physicaly disabled and pushchairs. 5. Local businesses will gain though the increased footfall, eg pubs, restaurants, cafes, holiday lets etc.
Steps to get it done:
This is a long term commitment of the parish council and will only be held back by the lack of funds. We have engaged with local businesses and local groups and government agencies and to date have had 100% support with many volunteers standing forward for the community project
