The badminton celebration will end in December with a Christmas Cracker junior tournament, with prizes.

What we'll deliver:

  • Christmas Junior Tournament in December ( 3 hours of delivery)
  • Purchase of equipment ( shuttles, nets, gadgets)
  • Purchase of prizes ( Medals, chocolates, rackets, t-shirts)

Why it's a great idea:

The project will primarily raise awareness and participation of badminton at GLL sites and throughout the borough. The Essentials course will train 8 new beginners to be able to join in their local badminton groups. After the project, the equipment used ( shuttles, pop-up nets, etc.) will be donated to local schools. The t-shirt prizes will advertise GLL Badminton and promote activity and well being. Sport Relief and McMillan Support will also benefit from the project.

Steps to get it done:

  • Book the courts
  • Advertise the events
  • Purchase the equipment and prizes
  • Deliver the events
  • Gather feedback

The equipment used in the project will be donated to local schools after use ( eg shuttles, pop-up nets, catch nets and giant shuttles etc). Several events will be used to voluntarily raise funds for charity.
