GlastonBeoley is primarily made up of 4 people with a love of music and big ideas!
Initially a hairbrained scheme by Debbie to celebrate a *ahem 'significant' birthday, the incorrigible yet patient Kev, Ian and Jackie were soon on board! They all hold down full time jobs, but are also now proud to have recently set up, and become directors of Glastonbeoley Community Interest Company. All donate their time for free.
Deb is the wild imagineer, coming up with all sorts of schemes and plans in an attempt to fill the pot with money to fund the festival. She quite likes a chat (!), and will talk enthusiastically about the festival and its aims until the cows come home, which is why she is the one who normally ends up being interviewed on BBC radio. She is also a musician herself, and has invaluable links with talented players who queue up to give their time for free to support us.
Kev is the brains and brawn. He helps to ensure that the plans are realistic and the targets are reachable (no Deb, we can't have dancing stage monkeys...!) He has a legal mind and an eye for the detail, and does all things from risk assessments to building stages out of pallets!
Ian is the cool, calm and collected problem solver. There is nothing that he cannot calmly find a solution for. He is also more than a little handy with a hammer and a screwdriver, and deals with all things IT, creating and maintaining our website.
Jackie is Little Miss Organised! She keeps a watchful eye on proceedings and pulls everything together. She also manages our marketing, runs our Youtube channel, and is very handy with a mop and bucket!
In our last 3 1/2 years we have managed to harness the support and commitment of volunteers who, like us, give their time freely to help make the festival possible, and to then run it on the day. Without their help during fundraising events, there would not be a festival. Volunteers come and go, depending on their lives and availability, and every single person who has contributed to our events so far have made a difference and helped to bring our imaginings to fruition.
Jilly Lala and Caz both deserve a special mention. Without their ever present enthusiasm, positivity, and 'let's do it!!' attitude we would definitely have struggled. Their energy is precious to us, and we love them.
Finally, we would be nothing without the support of the musicians who donate their time & support for free.
