Give not Waste is helping low income families/individuals who cannot get to a food bank and providing a delivery service once a week. For example they would pay monthly membership which would cover the cost of a delivery driver and petrol. If a family required a weekly delivery it would be £5 a week so membership would be £20 a month and they would receive at least £30 plus worth of food a week. So that would total £120 plus of food received in a month and all they pay is £20 a month membership. Membership can be cancelled anytime with no fees. Give not waste would work with supermarket chains, shops, factories and farms. Also we would collect all unwanted furniture and anything that can be reused to help families who need to furnish their homes. We would provide a delivery service of free furniture etc for a minimal amount to cover delivery. We would require a warehouse to sort the food and store furniture etc and a van to collect/deliver food and furniture.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Supporting low income families\individuals who are struggling financially during these times unable to pay their bills. Providing this service will save them money & allow them to pay their bills by reducing their food bills. Low income families struggle to get to food banks as there are not many located nearby and they have to travel far. By providing a delivery service we are reaching out to more people who are in need of food banks. I tested the market by adding Give not waste to Google directory with a contact number to test the need of a delivery service. I received 100s of calls from people who googled food banks and found Give not Waste. I was told the same thing many did not have transport or were disabled or were carers to their children with particular special needs & could not reach a local food bank as it was too far. Food banks are not huge chains located everywhere they are scarce so it limits those who are in need & can’t get to one. Give not waste will rid this issue.
Steps to get it done:
Give not Waste will employ a driver as well as sorters & volunteers to help sort through the food. By helping people to cut their food bills will allow them to use money to pay for bills or pay for activities for their kids or themselves.. It will help the environment due to not creating food waste and recycling furniture to be used by others. It will help to boost the economy by creating jobs but also by helping people to have food allow them to less worry and put their focus on gaining better prospects such as a job. By helping others they can help themselves to have better future in turn help boost the economy.
