Cycling is healthy, sustainable, fun and free! There are a surprising number of adults within our local community who are unable to ride a bike. As people get older they often lose the confidence to get on the saddle and learn to cycle. This is often because they lack a safe space, away from cars and lycra-clad pros, or because lessons are only aimed at children. We want to provide a cycling school dedicated to adults. Bikes, lessons, a safe open space and other cycling-related skills will be provided by experienced and patient instructors. Lessons will be free, as we believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn to cycle and experience the freedom of movement it can bring.
What we'll deliver:
Why it's a great idea:
Getting more people on bikes increases fitness, decreases reliance on car, bus and train use, and boosts mood! Public transport connections in Borth are infrequent, so being able to travel by bike will provide added freedom of movement around the local area. Cycling trips are a fantastic family activity, so parents who are unable to cycle can learn and enjoy their new skill with their children.
